How Does The Character Of Malvolio Change From Act 2 Scene 3 (Lines 63-148) To Act 3 Scene 4 (Lines 1-119)?
Twelfth night is a romantic comedy play by William Shakespeare. It is about two shipwrecked twins (Viola and Sebastian).Viola ends up in Illyria thinking Sebastian is dead. Viola dresses up like a man and names herself Cesario, while Sebastian is still trying to find a way to find Viola with the help of his friend Antonio. Viola works for the Duke Orsino. Orsino is in love with the Lady Olivia and uses Viola as an intermediary. She refuses to meet up with him. (Because of her dead father and brother, she promised to not see a suitor for at least 7 years). Olivia, believing viola to be male, falls in love with her. Viola, in turn, falls in love with the Duke. Meanwhile, Sir Toby, (cousin of Olivia), Feste (The clown) and Sir Andrew Aguecheek (would-be-suitor) are up singing and drinking. Maria (maid) comes to tell them to be quiet then Malvolio shows up. The behaviour of Sir Toby and Feste towards Malvolio becomes cruel towards the end.
