Software applications and information systems are available for various organizational departments within a company, such as accounting, finance, HR, marketing, and management. I will discuss a few types that are used. Without various software applications and the information systems needed departments organizational structures would run extremely slow and quiter inifficient. Technoligy has developed streemelined materials that speed up processes and make the daily operation effective.
Marketing software is any type of computer applications or programs that is used for marketing management. This software helps to create catalogs, maintain customer databases, and manage marketing projects (Marketing central, 1998 - 2009). While focusing on the Finance Department, the Marketing Department and the IT Department, there are several different software products currently on the market to meet the needs of each of these departments within a company. One all inclusive program that would be adequate for a sole proprietor or small company is Quicken which is used as a personal finance management tool developed by Intuit, Inc. Quicken runs on Windows and Macintosh systems. Previous versions ran on DOS. There are several versions of Quicken, such as Quicken New User, Quicken Basic, Quicken Deluxe, Quicken Rental Property Manager, Quicken Premier, and Quicken Home & Business. Each version of Quicken also tends to have the release year in the product name (e.g., Quicken Basic 2008). Some of the features of Quicken are not present in Quicken Essentials for Mac, such as the ability to track investment buys and sells, to export data to TurboTax, or to pay bills online from the application. For these features, the Quicken web site recommends Quicken Mac 2007.
