Innovative Way of Teaching Vocabulary

Students all around the world, are learning to speak English, whether it be as their native language or a secondary language. Some of the students want to learn English because it is part of being in school, but for other individuals, it reflects a choice of progression. Just like an instrument, students may learn it for a practical purpose. Students could also learn English for personal reasons, such as learning the language for legal purposes, business, tourism, banking, etc. For students who are studying at an English speaking University, they may need to take English for purposes relating to academics. Some students learn English as it will be useful for traveling and exploring different regions of the world, such as Australia, Britain, America, etc. Various factors contribute to create a desire to learn. Maybe the learners love the subject, or some are motivated for a practical reason, like being able to acquire a knowledge or skill. The desire to achieve some goal is the foundation of motivation and if it is strong enough, provokes a decision to act and take control.

The class would be divided into two groups. Around the classroom would be folded pieces of paper in front of certain objects, various objects will have various points. One student from each group tries to answer what the object is. If the students gets the object right, they will get a point. And if they don’t get it right, they must draw the object and then color it in (instead of deducting points from the group). The teacher then gives out the answer to the student who gets it right. Some pieces of paper will have a star. The symbol will represent double the points for the original item, and in order to get the extra points they must give the definition or give two sentences about the object. For example:...
