Interesting Perspective on the Fast Food Industry

Though this is a very interesting perspective on the fast food industry. It is perhaps mind-boggling due to the fact that we as Americans have been for years consuming fast food products without second thought as to what goes into preparing these meals. This book has given me a more realistic view towards the fast food industry, and makes me think twice before entering one when I am on the go in a hurry. There were three theme’s that interested me enough to dig deeper into and evaluate for this paper. The theme’s I plan to explore are marketing towards younger generations, capital and labor policies, and Immigration in the fast food industry.Marketing efforts directed toward younger generations has grown a substantial amount over the years. Fast food restaurants are specifically a place to eat. But majority of its advertising and commercials are filled with attractions for children. Each month there is a different popular toy being given away with kids meals. These fast food chains know that they key to attracting kids are toys. Its that simple, but these industries are greedy and they need to do more than just the minimal to insure their businesses will be frequented often by kids, and their parents who have the money to support these lucrative industries. For instance these establishments have play grounds or play areas. The playgrounds at these establishments allow the parents to bring kids in for lunch and the park all at one designated place. This industry has gotten so into marketing and promoting towards children that now they even have video game systems attached to televisions in their establishments to keep the age groups occupied. They fast food industry has decided to merge resources. If they link up with other huge corporations such as Disneyland the promotions and advertising raises and Disneyland being the place of kids dreams what better advertising stunt can there be.I use to work for McDonalds in 2001 when I was a sophomore...
