To critique is the ability to speak positive and/or negative about something. Not all the time is it mandatory to be negative because there are positive aspects to every situation. In the blog, video and podcast about the effects of underage teenage drinking, there is relevant information revealed regarding the effects it has on society. Some information is true and some information is a matter of opinion. In this paper a blog, video and podcast will be assessed about the use of bias, validity, and applicability. A list of three factors will be compiled that I believe should be considered when evaluating internet sources are used in researching information.
In the podcast of “Underage Drinking”, the podcast was directed towards teenagers, young adults ages 18 to 21 and basically just anyone who drinks. Vital information was given for everyone, even those who do not drink. An example of this is that your license can be taken for anything related to drinking whether it involves a car or not. The validity of this podcast appeared to be legitimate because it deals with the Secretary of Illinois and other states as well. Positive information was given about the laws of drinking and driving and what can happen to you. Also information was shared about how the Secretary of the State of Illinois communicates with other states in case you get a ticket in another state. This podcast also talked about the importance of knowing your rights as a citizen because sometimes a ticket can be given to a person as if they were drinking and driving and that is not the case, this ticket will get that person’s license suspended as if a vehicle was involved and it was not.
