Issues in the Business Workplace
In today’s society, there are many problems that occur in the workplace. This is unfortunate because many of these issues can be prevented. One main concern is sexual harassment. Sexual harassment has become a very serious problem with women in the workplace. This has been an issue for several years. Although businesses know occurrences of sexual harassment exist, sometimes there is nothing that can be done to prevent the issue. It should be a priority of the employer to address sexual harassment policies to all employees. This may result in fewer appearances of sexual harassment and a better, more efficient workplace. It is vital to establish a work environment where no individual feels unsafe or insecure during the course of the day. This is important because no one wants to be violated and this type of issue can cause a commotion in the work atmosphere. Obviously, sexual harassment needs to be addressed more often or it could damage many people’s lives. Sexual harassment can take place in many circumstances but it needs to decrease significantly in the working environment. Women have been victims of unwanted sexual acts for years and it needs to come to a halt. An occurrence such as sexual harassment can steer a woman out of a job she may really enjoy and have success with. There are several aspects of the job that can be affected in a negative way due to sexual harassment. There is nothing positive resulting in such acts and sexual harassment needs to be an important topic of discussion especially in the workplace.
Why is sexual harassment a major concern for businesses in the workplace? Employers and companies do not want their women employees to feel unsafe due to sex offenders in the work area.
