B.A. Degree Tack in the English Department at Kabul University
In addition to all of the required courses, the B.A. degree track in the English Department at Kabul University requires a B.A. Monograph. In the case of research, the monograph must be an original work of its author or compiler. That is, the monograph should include a good summary, paraphrase and synthesis of the sources you read and/or studied. Writer of the monograph must prepare monograph according to APA writing style. This means that he/she needs to use and prepare both in-text citation and end-text citation (Bibliography or Reference) according to APA style. In-text citation makes a research paper stronger and prevents the possibility of plagiarism. It is worth saying that in-text citation is used in all three cases: 1) when quoting a text from the target source (minimum quotes should be used-quotes should be less than 40 words), 2) summarizing, and 3) paraphrasing the target text source. To understand all these points, you may need to read and refer to an APA style handbook. Furthermore, the paper needs to be free of any type of errors such as punctuation, capitalization, grammatical structures, word choice, organization of ideas, and etc.
In the case of translation, the monograph should be translated very well and the translation should covey message/idea of the target text accurately and exactly. The translation should also be free of any type of errors such as punctuation, capitalization, grammatical structures, word choice, organization of ideas, and etc.
Margins of in all four sides of the paper should be default/standard margins. In the case of font type and font size, font type of text of the monograph and headings should be consistent throughout the paper. That is, font type and size of the text should be Times New Roman 12, but the font size of the headings and subheadings may vary and should be prepared as illustrated below:
