Actress-recording star Gretchen "La Greta" Barretto on Tuesday came to the defense of sister Marjorie Barretto who is rumored to be pregnant allegedly by Caloocan City Mayor Enrico “Recom” Echiverri.
In an interview during the contract signing for her newest album titled "Complicated," Gretchen stressed that her sister, a councilor of Caloocan, is not expecting a baby.
"Hindi totoong buntis si Marjorie. Hindi kami nagde-deny kapag buntis. Wala kaming dini-deny (kapag buntis), pinagmamalaki namin 'yon," Barretto said.
La Greta was reacting to reports that Marjorie, who allegedl had an affair with Echiverri, is always absent from work purportedly because of her pregnancy.

For Gretchen, these allegations are being thrown at Marjorie simply because she is an effective public servant.
"Ganoon naman 'yon kapag nasa politika, kapag nasa limelight ka, pinagtsi-tsismisan ka...ibig sabihin ay importante siya," the oldest of the Barretto sisters said.
Meanwhile, La Greta on Tuesday signed a new contract with ABS-CBN’s music outfit Star Records.
“Complicated,” her second album that contains 14 tracks, will be available at all leading record bars nationwide starting Wednesday. The album is composed of original and revival songs.
The songs include “Looking Through This Eyes," "Never My Love," "If I Could Reach You," "Don't Say Goodbye," "Complicated," "Tell Me," "Here," “There and Everywhere," "This Far," "I'll Be There," and "Ready To Take a Chance Again."
Amid criticisms questioning her talent as a singer, Gretchen said she feels that she is now a “legitimate singer,” especially after working with Loiue Ocampo.
"Working with Louie Ocampo for the first time, I guess, it is the most...
