Lady Macbeth is never praised. She appears guilt only when sleeping. Lady Macbeth always thinks of death “I heard the owl scream and the crickets cry “(2.2.15). Lady Macbeth is the one who encourages Macbeth to kill King Duncan. The reason she does this is because she wants more power and wants to become queen. Lady Macbeth encourages him by saying things like “Only look up clear to alter favor ever is to fear”(1.5.72-73).
Lady Macbeth is more ambitious because Lady Macbeth asks the Spirits to make her evil and then she proceeds on to convince Macbeth to kill Duncan. Lady Macbeth is more greedy and ambitious because she wanted the fame without having to do it herself. Lady Macbeth becomes very keen to watch Macbeth as King just after receiving his letter. Her verbal signs of motivation towards her husband are indeed a noteworthy manifestation of her ambitious nature. Perhaps she temporarily loses her real identity. She deliberately calls upon darkness to hide her evil intentions.
