Influential Events of the Last 115 Years
Throughout the last century many events have impacted the modern world we live in. An event such as World War 1 played a significant part of the public’s life during the period of time. More recent events also have impacted on the modern society, with the Microsoft Corporation being introduced and Barak Obama being elected President of America. All three of these events over the last 115 years have changed the course of history, impacting and influencing many societies and individuals worldwide.
World War 1, between 1914 and 1918 took a great toll worldwide with devastating effects. After the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand the world’s largest forces divided into two, reining war and killing hundreds of thousands in the process. These two forces were the Allies and the Central Powers, mainly comprised of English and German soldiers respectively, but there were plenty of other countries involved in the war (The World War, 2015). Australia, New Zealand, Russia, America and France were key contributors to the Allies whilst the Central powers consisted of Italy, Hungary, Austria, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire. It is estimated that during the war 10 million military personnel were killed and another 7 million civilians were also fatally injured. This is equivalent to roughly 2% of the world’s population, rendering it one of the most significant events in world history.

The company has expanded the internet as well as computer systems and gaming systems.
