To whom it may concern,
My immediate goal is to attend Concordia and be successful in my academic studies. A few years ago, the only credentials I had was my high school diploma. I was interested in attending Concordia at that time, but I just didn’t meet the minimum requirements for admission to the Communication studies BA program. My specific goals include expanding my knowledge in the various types of media forms and developing my skills as a Sound engineer. Additionally, I would like to gain experience in the different areas of sound and music production.
I really enjoy the creative possibilities that exist in working with Foley and A.D.R. Music production, including live sound and soldering, are of interest to me but they are not my main focus. I am particularly interested in Post Production because it allows me to collaborate and work with creative people. Because I did not have the minimum requirements for entry into this program, I have spent the last two years working towards building a portfolio and strengthening my academic background. I attended Recording Arts Canada and earned an A.E.C. degree in sound engineering with the hope of gaining the experience and minimum requirements necessary to finally be accepted into the Communication Studies BA. program.
I have already dedicated two years to the completion of this program. It is my intent and ultimate goal not only to complete the program, but also to excel in the area. I am determined to achieve my goal. I am prompt, cooperative, responsible, and collaborative. Additionally, because of my recent experience with aiding in the care of my grandmother, I have learned that I also possess patience, which can be a valuable asset in any field. Some of my interests include, Sound/music for games, sound for television spots and commercials, scores for film, and radio ads. Graduate school is a long term goal for me, but my immediate focus is on earning my undergraduate degree.
