When it comes to the future, there are three different kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened. Coming into high school, like any other freshman, I didn’t know what I was going to do with my life but I know I’ve always had an interest in baking. The only thing in the way of starting to pursue that career was the fact that I promised my best friend, Ashley, that we would play high school basketball and get a scholarship for college. Freshman year I wasn’t that serious about school or anything that had to do with it. It was one of those things that I would get by without worrying about my future. Besides, it was freshman year; I wasn’t ready to make my final decision on what to do with my life just yet. Sophomore year, I still wasn’t that into making the final decision about my future. My friends were more into deciding than I was. They thought we were getting older and that we were running out of time. One day sophomore year, I was thinking of things that I may want to be when I get older. There was one thing that got my attention and that was Culinary Arts. Even though I’ve always wanted to be a basketball player my whole life, in the back if my mind, I wanted to do some better and productive with my life. Basketball can always be a sport in my life that I play on the side when have free time. Junior year, although still undecided, my parents thought it would be a great idea to look up the college I had interest in going too. I looked up two specific colleges that have amazing culinary programs: Joliet Junior College and Le Cordon Bleu. I also looked up the boot camp in Texas for the Air Force. Despite not making my decision I strongly desired to go to school for Culinary Arts. The summer going into Senior Year, my best friend and I both had an interest in going into the Military. We met up with the Marine Corps recruiters and talked to them about being in the Marines and what it takes to make it. By...
