In the novel like water for chocolate feelings and sensations are fully discribe so the reader can experience what Tita the protagonist is feeling. The movie instead its a good film but misses many small but important details along the story. Some of the difference that can be found between the book and the film is that the characters are not the dark skin mexican family that can be expected. This although is not a mayor issue can take away the idea that readers have about Pedro and Mama Elena and most of the characters involve. Another big difference is the failure to explain the small details of what happens to the food that tita prepares and why. Troughout the book the writer gives an exact definition of what tita its feeling and the reaction that she transmit to the food. In the movie it is hard to understand for example what happens to the people at the wedding with the cake that Tita prepared while she was crying. The important of the tears in the process of mixing the icing is not fully shown in the movie and if the movie is seen without reading the book this event can cause confusion. Another big difference can be found when the incidents between Mama Elena and the revolutionary army begins. In the book the writer makes clear that after the second visit of the army to the ranch the beat Mama Elena so bad that she ended up baing paraplegic. This is one of the major events in tha novel beacuse after this Tita decides to return to the ranch after spending days at Dr. Brown house. This hole event it is shorten in the film and takes away the real meaning of Tita coming back to the ranch that it was because her mother was in a wheelchair and unable to move. In the film they just show the army going in one time instead of two and after Mama Elena dead without taking into consideration the real meaning of Mama Elena in a wheelchair and Tita returning one more...
