The quote “In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous” reminds me of Robert Frost’s poem, Design. It is about nature While Design, is clearly about a person encountering something unusual in nature. It is also interesting to notice the stanza formation, rhyming and the meaning of the colors.
The poem begins with an image of a fat and white spider on a heal-all plant. Frost describes the Heal- All as white, but really Heal- Alls are a blue/purple color. Then Frost describes the moth as a rigid satin cloth. That means is was a pretty ugly scene. The “ witches’ broth” was one of the most descriptive details about the scene. Then the spider carries the moth like a paper kite. This shows haw cruel the spider is. Frost than asks, “what is the flower to do being white”. White symbolizes something interesting and important, Then, Frost is asking why did the spider do that. The spider did not even care,
The stanza formation is very unique and so is the punctuation In the first stanza there are eight lines and in the second stanza there are six lines. Spiders have eight legs and moths have six legs. Both stanzas are not exactly in line. There are only two periods in the whole poem. Each first line of a stanza both have a comma. There are also two dashes in the first stanza and only one in the second stanza. The second stanza has many question marks. Which means that the author is thinking and questioning his ideas,.
This poem has a very unique rhyme sequence. This poem is not hundred percent rhyming; Abbaabbaacaacc is the rhyme sequence in the poem. Lines 1 and 2 rhyme, lines 4 and 5 and lines 6 and 7. Those lines are the most important lines in the poem. Frost is trying to point out. It is very unusual that he would. He is trying having a message in his poem.
The colors in the poem are very important in the poem. In the beginning of the poem he talks about white. White signifies the daytime. The second stanza talks a lot...
