How to sucesssfully do PMS on a cooling coil unit.
By: AN MORRIS

First off a cooling coil is basically a big air conditioner. It is what keeps all of our spaces cool. You have to at least know about the item your about to do maintaince on. If you dont know what it is then how are you going to do it right. OK, so the first thing your gonna do is grab your tools. It is important that you have the correct tools so that you dont have to do rework, hurt yourself, or hurt others. SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY is the most important thing when doing PMS on any piece of equipment.
You can find the list of tools on the MRC which will be provided by the WCS of your division. When you get on scene, you are gonna want to take your socket wrench and open up the swinging door that is located on your right. Once you do that your gonna be looking at some filters. If they are black, torn up, or just extremly dirty you will replace them. Once you have finished that your gonna take the filters out, which come out just by pulling on them. Then take a flashlight and look at the cooling coil. It will look brown but thats just because its made out of copper. If it looks dirty take your air compresser with the air blower attatchment, and clean out the cooling coil by spraying it out. When your are finished put back the filters and close it up. Congratulations you have just completed your first cooling coil. Report back to your WCS and carry out the rest of the plan of the day. Thank you for your time and have a great navy day.
