Anything to Succeed
I can’t sleep. Finally waking up, my mind immediately drifts to the check I have to cash later on in the day. I take care of my daily morning routines and move on to the T.V. where I watch ESPN, looking, searching for big plays and playmakers to compare myself with. Then after some hour have past I know that it I time to be on my way to cash my check. I grab my number 8 and walk out the door to meet with my teammates who also have a check to cash. All of us are ready now with our proper equipment. Normal people cash their checks in a bank, but we aren’t normal people. We pride ourselves in cashing our checks on the field. Click-clack is all one hears as we start our trot.
The process has started. We are finally about to cash that check. The game starts and I and my fellow brother #45 begin our work. As we slaughter every player who touches the ball from the opposing team. With every hit we know we are getting closer to a W. That by itself makes our souls jump. Because we as a unit work all week and month to accomplish our goal of cashing our check. Nothing can compare with how we feel as we achieve our goal by cashing our check and earning a W.
Some people don’t understand why this W is so important to us, but every game, every check that we cash on the field is essentially what we live for. Because football is us, it is me. Without football I wouldn’t be the same person I am today because football defines me. My life has and will revolve around it. God has placed it in my life to bless me. Football is more than a game to me. It is a culture, a routine, a privilege for anyone who takes place in it. The greatest sport ever invented. Football is my passion. It is what I do.
Some people ask well what makes you different from any other football player who loves football or why is this unique. My response is this. When I am on the field I just know I can be who I am....
