Check Point: Modern Challenges in Immigration

I selected the illegal immigrant group.

If I imagine myself as an illegal immigrant I would be happy that I was finally in the United States. There are many reasons to why I can make a better life for myself by coming to the United States. I would be able to obtain a higher paying job to provide for family. My opinion on immigration process would be a waste of time. As an illegal immigrant I have the intention to come to the United States illegally.

Immigration processing would not be something an illegal immigrant will complete. There can be several reasons for this. It can be due to the lack of money to pay for the processing, no education to help with the naturalization testing, or possible crime.

The United States should favor all immigrants that follow the government policies. I think some of the costs for the immigration process are expensive. Fingerprinting immigrants should be a required procedure. Anyone that lives in the United States whether they are American born or an immigrant should be fingerprinted for all security purposes. Citizenship preference should not be determined by the neediest, talented, oppressed or richest. I do agree that to be naturalized they need to be able to pass the required testing, be able to understand English and now somewhat of our US history. Applications from certain countries should have no difference in priority. There are government policies to everyone that applies for naturalization; it should be the same for everyone.
