Immigration Challenges

Immigration Challenges

When an immigrant entry in United States, the government can easily decide who is allowed to stay. In this case certain elements of subjectivity can result in unfairness and discrimination. Since September 11, 2001 the immigrants in general are being stereotype as “terrorists” this have become a real problem to decide and to favor them during the process of immigration. However, immigrants that are skilled in a certain filled that United States needs get preference, this is in order to protect the American labor market stated by the 1965 Immigration and Naturalization Act signed by the President Lyndon B. Johnson. In the other hand this act priority is to reunite families, which is a contradiction if the Mexicans history is presented, when their Mexican-Americans children are let alone in their birth country, United States without their parents for immigration status problem. In this case the policy is separating families not reuniting them. In addition refugees immigrants, and asylees due to their religious, and political persecution are sometimes more welcome than other types of immigrants.
I believe that the process should be equal to everybody, the policy should not have preferences for immigrants with more skills, the policy should not favor the refugees or the asylees, the policy should not give more opportunity to the one with a best financial status. United States should give the same opportunity to every immigrant, which means that should be fair. This nation brings a lot of opportunities and prejudice, unfairness, discrimination and stereotypes do not let a society progress.
