Modern Men
In todays society men are self-centered, lazy, beer drinking macho men. In the 19th century men were the bread winners while women took care of the home. Being a male in todays society is easy,there role still hasn’t changed drastically they are influenced by media, tradition and power. Men play many roles in a womens life they are husbands, baby daddys and providers. There is days we as women hate there guts but at the same time we love them to death.
Since the 1950s, the image of the American woman has gone through numerous makeovers. But masculine expectations remain the same .Modern men are macho they don’t like to feel feminine or even do chores that women are suppose to do. According to Andrew Romano, “The average wife still does roughly double the housework of the average husband: the equivalent of two full workdays of additional chores each week and when it comes to children women spend 400 percent more time with the kids”. There's growing evidence, however, that they can be expanded. Mostly everyone holds the mens standard so pittifuly low when it comes to raising there children.
Michael Chabon discovered on a trip to the grocery store with his son, society still expects very little from fathers. "You are such a good dad," a woman told him as he waited in line to pay. "I can tell." Exactly what she could tell was a mystery to Chabon, who recounts the story in his 2009 essay collection Manhood for Amateurs. But clearly no woman would earn kudos for toting her kids around the frozen-foods aisle. Chabon is absolutely right, society sees a mother with a child and doesn’t get compliments. But we see a male in the store with a child he gets praised for the simple fact that society thinks men are irresponsible.
Men are suppose to be manly, brave, courageous, strong and great leaders. Instead they are machistas, meaning their masculinity is superior to femininity .Machismo is what all boys...
