My Hometown

My Hometown

I was born in a small country town known as Saltsburg in Pennsylvania. Saltsburg is about 15 minutes away from Indiana, Pa. I was born at Indiana Regional Hospital which is next to the famous college the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Growing up from birth to an adult in the small town of Saltsburg you get to know just about everyone. There was one grocery stores, one drug store, one restaurant, a barber shop, and one doctor's office when I was a child. I remember as a child thinking how boring it was to live in this town because there were not many things to do for entertainment unless you consider catching fireflies, building tree houses, making mud pies, and catching salamanders in the creek, entertainment. I would always tell my parents that I wanted to live in the exciting city with lots of buildings, lights, and noise. Now, as an adult and Mother. I cherish my childhood memories of catching fireflies and making mud pies and appreciate living in the country versus the busy city life.
Therefore, what started out as a small town, Saltsburg has gone through some changes. Now in the 20th century, we now have two grocery stores, dentist office, a Fox's Pizza Den , a Subway and we have about four gas stations and convenient stores . I absolutly love this little town. It is the place I have known for a long time and will continue live here till I pass away and the story goes on and on with new people and other changes taking place here and there.
