Mythology comes from anciet Greece and it is a word made by us.
The term of classical Greece is something made by us because the country of Greece does not exist in the ancient world because they are made up of city states.
Polis and Poleis
Some of the city states are in southern Italy and the islands on the agean sea, so these are the people whose mythology we study.
These people all studied some form of greek, they were polytheistic and different city states placed importance on different gods. They worship all thegods but they favored certain gods.

mythology is not primitive religion because they do not have a bible or anything that tells them what to do.
They tell stories about the gods , and who the world was created and how the gods were created ana d certainstoires about how humans were created.
Homer gave them the best explanation of the Gods.
The first third of the course, we can read Homer and Hessiad.
The gods do what they do and it does not have to do with morality.
Homer and hessiad were epic poets and people thought the gods were inspiring them.
