Week 2 iLab:
Performance Management 10Mbps
1. How many total bits/sec for the network would you expect to be sent for the frame size of 256 bytes? 4.096 Mbps
2. How many total bits/sec for the network would you expect to be sent for the frame size of 512 bytes? 8.192 Mbps
3. How many total bits/sec for the network would you expect to be sent for the frame size of 1,024 bytes? 16.384 Mbps
4. Compare the simulation results for the PK256_100Mbps run with your calculations from Question 1 part (a). Are they about the same?
4.096 Mbps is close to what the graph states. It varies a little above and a little below 4 Mb. However, the average of the bits sent do equal on average 4 Mb per a second.
5. Compare the simulation results for the PK512_100Mbps run with your calculations from Question 1 part (a). Are they about the same?
The traffic throughput is the same as I calculated. The traffic does vary however, the average is around 8 Mbps.
6. Compare the simulation results for the PK1024_100Mbps run with your calculations from Question 1 part (a). Are they about the same?
The traffic is much lower than I calculated. I calculated about 16Mbps but it only averaged around 9Mbps as shown in the graph.
1 7. For the PK256_100Mbps run, compare the total traffic sent to the total traffic received. Are they the same? Would you expect them to be about the same? Why or why not?
2
Yes, the network seems to be able to handle the traffic sent and the traffic received.
3 8. For the PK512_100Mbps run, compare the total traffic sent to the total traffic received. Are they the same? Would you expect them to be about the same? Why or why not?
4 Yes this network is able to handle the transfer rate uploading and downloading at a steady rate at 8Mbps
5 9. For the PK1024_100Mbps run, compare the total traffic sent to the total traffic received. Are they the same? Would you expect them to be about the same? Why or...
