The Railway is one of the most important inventions of the past few centuries. It changed
so much about the way people lived and the world of business and manufacturing. It made
a significant contribution to industrializing the developed world and made people more
mobile than they had every been. Before the invention of the steam train all transportation
was manual and horse drawn, It took days for goods and people to move from one city to
the next. The steam train was a great example of human kind applying science to create
something which made life much easier and made an impact on so many lives.
Before the invention of steam trains, It was hard for urban nations such as the UK and
America. Things such as food, fuel, building materials, etc had to be supplied to these
citied and towns regularly.(Pbs.org)But it was hard to do so because of the forms of
transport available was slow and inefficient. Sometimes it was done with Wagon ways (a
wooden rail drawn by a horse) or via canals and rivers. So when the first steam railway
was invented in 1705, it was very innovative. Suddenly it was much easier to transport
these goods from one place to another more quickly. The invention of the steam railway
improved the lives of many city dwellers. Now they could travel for work and leisure and
towns which which were linked with a railway enjoyed more economic benefits.

Not only did the railroad have a great impact on urban dwellers but it created a more linked
society and It allowed distance travel of different countries. Countries were able to work
together more efficiently due to the decreased time in travel from one place to another.
The steam engine had made a huge impact compared to the usual horse powered
transportation. It really helped the growth of industries during that period of time.
