Let me first introduce myself, I’m Katie Barnes, I am a junior at East Lee County High School, I am an honor student, and I work very hard to maintain my grades. I do nothing but strive to be my best. I love to learn and help others, I love to encourage people and to help them have the best possible day they can have. I have a 3.53 G.P.A and am determined to get higher than that. I hope that I am what you are looking for as a National Honor Society applicant.
Having this opportunity to apply for a membership as great as joining the National Honor Society is such a privilege. Although I might not have as much experience as some of the other applicants, I know I am more willing and eager to accept responsibility and be part of NHS. When I start a project or am part of something I am very passionate and I do nothing but my best to prove that I am the right person for the job.
I’m a very hard worker and I will not give up easily. Even if something gets hard and frustrating, I will keep a smile on my face and stay focused on what is needed of me. I volunteered at an elementary summer camp up in Orlando for two summers in a row, and it was such a joy to see the smiling faces of all the kids when I would play with them or help them do something. My greatest joy is seeing people smile or laugh because of something I did to help them have a better day. Over those two summers, not only had I gained I not only over two hundred community service hours, but I also gained knowledge about helping people and children and I learned respect for everyone.
I was in contact with people all day and I had to be very polite and considerate to the parents, staff, and children. I enjoy helping people with anything big or small because I know that I did something good for someone other than myself. I have a proclivity for service oriented activities, I always want to be helping others and showing them that teenagers aren’t always delinquents. I want to give my generation a good...
