this Reflecting upon the article “The College scam: Success doesn’t require a degree” by lmake more money without a degree. He makes his arguments based on facts such as graduates accumulate heavy student loans and don’t find the job they want after getting a degree. I disagree with the author about his opinion towards college education. He argues how many successful people did not finish college; how college education costs are increasing
Stossel’s argument on how the most successful people did not attend college does not apply to general public. The people that he listed such as Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates are not ordinary people. They both possess set of skills that cannot be found in regular people. Most People can’t write operating software or design a social website, changing the whole world. Stossel argues about how there are a lot of graduates with bachelor’s degree who are underemployed and working as bartenders or taxi drivers. In the video found on YouTube which is related to the article, he described two graduates who were underemployed. Walter Roland has a degree in meteorology and Rachel Percell has hers in Human development. Both graduates are underemployed and working for minor jobs with ten to twelve dollars an hour. Its conclusive there is a lot of majors in colleges that may not guarantee a job right away due to the peculiarity of the major.
