In today’s society parents do many crazy things to help there kids out in sports. This day in age in sports parents go a little over board with things. Some parents spend a lot of money while some others look towards violence. In my paper I will prove that in this generation parents will spend unnecessary amounts of money towards there children’s sports and others will take there anger out on the teams coaches or others just pressure there child into playing to the point where it is unbelievable.
In many situations parents get to involved with there child’s sports. Some parents just work there kids so hard that some of them lose out on there life. “One sports parent began training his son at the age of four to become a pro football player. The dad quit his job to facilitate his son's coaching. The boy is now 12 and spends 10 hours per day training with his father.”(http://ezinearticles.com) In this situation this parent has took over his kids life. It seems that he is just trying to live his dreams through his son’s life. This parent is to involved with his child’s life, working him ten hours a day is sad. This child is practicing so much that he is missing out on his childhood and he will never be able to restore that and he will not be able to have his own decisions about what he wants to do.
In another way that parents get over board with there kids sports is when the spend unnecessary money for the hope of there child’s success. “The parents of Beau Fraser have spent $30,000 to help him become a better athlete.”(Alsever1) With the money these parents are spending on there kids sports is hard to believe. That thirty thousand can go to a good college education but instead it is put into private trainers, athletic testing, baseball camps, and travel elite teams. With all of this money going to those things is risky. The thing with sports is you are not guaranteed to go professional even with all of the training you can buy.
