Performance and Career Management

This is an appraisal form that I am going to use to evaluate my team members. I have included the following in this report. 1. Feedback-how is feedback given to my employees and what opportunities are provided to them. 2. Ways to help my employees reach higher level of performance. 3. Educational opportunities to increase skills. 4. Flexible opportunities for dual career parents. 5. How I handle diversity in my team. 6. A justification of why this report will work.
My goal, as a manager, is to also help my team reach a higher level of performance. I believe one part of reaching the goal has been achieved by selecting a talented and professional group of my sales team. My next goal will be to “eliminate roadblocks to successful performance” (University of Phoenix, 2005, p. 330). In reaching that goal, I will ask for my employees’ input. My employees’ job will be to identify these obstacles, and my job will be to eliminate these obstacles. To facilitate my team’s performance, I will make sure they have everything they need. Hopefully, my sales team has identified what they need to achieve the company’s goal successfully, in their training process.
This organization values its employees’ diversity and their family responsibilities. I will be flexible with my dual-career couples. As long as my employee is committed to the job, I will help him or her to manage his or her career by using planning, goal setting, and problem solving techniques. I am also proud of knowledge, expertise, and different point-of-views that have been brought to my team because of its diversity. My team will have trainings on different cultures, and hopefully, this training will make everyone more comfortable with each other. I embrace diversity and the values it brings to my team, however, I would not consider age, sex, or background when it comes to performance.
