Personal Values

Personal and Organizational values are imperative in the success of any firm or company. It is important to embrace ethical behavior in your organization because customers will remain devoted to those that do not perform reckless or negligently. Ethics plays an immense role in the work place. It is defined online as the method designed for a code of conduct. I classify ethics as the principles and guidelines that each employee should abide by. The mission of Kudlers is to offer each customer a delightful and pleasing shopping outing. As an organization, Kudler Fine Foods appears to value superior customer service and having close interaction and welcoming relationships with the customers as core values. Values are described as “traits or qualities that are considered worthwhile. They represent an individual’s highest priorities and deeply held driving forces”(Heathfield, 2010). This directly correlates with my ethical perspective, which greatly depends on character. Just like Kathy, I believe that the people are our most important asset. My personal description of the “people” consists of both the staff and customers.
Week six heavily relied on diversity in the workplace, the importance of ethical conduct, and its advantages and challenges. “Values form the foundation for everything that happens in your workplace. You naturally hire people who share your values” (Heathfield, 2010). This is why it is also important to encourage employee diversity. Diversity teaches us how to approach different situations and people with tact and respect. This is key when you are in a career that offers services to a range of people from diverse backgrounds. The advantages of diversity in a work place are that different employees have unique thoughts and ideals.
