At the beginning of the early 1900’s was an Era called the Progressive Era because there were a lot of improvements and reforms during this time. The year 2005 can also be known as a progressive era also. In the 21st century social welfare, economic reform and moral improvements are all being practiced to try and help fairness and quality of life in the U.S.
Our country is using social welfare and trying to improve it to make our country better as a whole. Standardized testing began as a suggestion in the 1900’s to better our schools and to help the people attending the schools. There were advocates in the 1900’s that changed the child labor laws and set up schools one of their names was Florence Kelly. The progressive period brought us people like the Salvation Army which their main goal is to help people with their living conditions and also companies that came in 2005 was the YMCA which is a family place and helped children have a safe place to come. President Bush tried to help people that are retired by changing the social security to better suit them so that they would have a steady income. He also tried to change the health insurance to better suit the people that were on social security and give them a break on taxes. Aid Groups were all around in the 1900’s they helped out people everywhere and in many different ways. There were groups everywhere in the 1900’s and they were rapidly growing then and also in the year 2005 they still popped up everywhere. Teen centers and youth groups are everywhere they were put in place to keep kids of the streets and there will always be a need to keep them safe and off the streets because they are our future and we have to keep them safe.
Economic reform will and will always be a necessary thing in the future it was important in the progressive era and it is still important today because that is what keeps our country alive if it fails the country will more than likely fall. In the progressive era the only way...
