A researcher must, first of all, understand the topic of interest for the study and then evaluate the type of research approach that applies to use. A research design is a model that allows the researcher to find solutions to anticipated problems and criterion for the various stages of the study (Frankfort-Nachmias & Nachmias, 2008).
