Reflection
On my assignment, I was instructed to make an overseas trip across the world, this was very educational and I will remember this assignment for future reference. I learnt about Italy, Africa and the USA, though I only planned on my assignment to go to parts of these places, I had to learn about the whole country or continent that I had chosen so when I made my decision on my destination, it would be an informed decision. Before I started this assignment I had a rough idea on where I wanted to go; Venice was an instant choice as the idea of a “floating city” amazed and intrigued me. My other destinations weren’t as definite or precise, I just knew that I had to go to the USA and go for safari in Africa.
This assignment also made me aware of tourism and how important it is, Australia’s economy would be nowhere near as strong and it also brings foreign currency in. Tourism is merely like an investment and I learnt that it is, well for Australia anyway, an almost fail-safe investment that is sure to bring a profit. Some of this, thankfully, is used to make habitats and homes for the animals that lost theirs because of the tourism industry. Tourism is a very big industry and gives many job opportunities; it supports an overwhelming 7% of the world workers.
As I come to my conclusion, I must confess that I did enjoy this project, it was both informative and satisfying. At first I was stuck because I didn’t know what how to begin but once I found my footing I just kept on going. I hope you also find this assignment as informative and surprising as I did, because I spent many hours on this and some were definitely more pleasurable than others.
