Reflective Paper
There are several stages in the development of the human lifespan. According to Tissenbaum author of “Genetics, Life Span, Health Span, and the Aging Process
In Caenorhabditis elegans” ‘lifespan” is defined as the time from birth until death. Aging is one of those stages and this usually takes place during an individual’s middle and late adulthood. Many view aging as a natural process and we all have to go through this process. However, many individuals find aging hard to accept. There are different views of aging both positive and negative. I had the opportunity to interview a senior citizen who was in great health and physical condition for his age. I learned so much information from personal experiences to advice he would give others based off of his own experience growing up. On July 29, 2013 I had the opportunity to interview a senior citizen to complete my assignment. Upon the start of this class I realized that I needed to schedule this interview ahead of time. I am glad that I had the chance to speak to him and gain some insight on different viewpoints. Before arriving to this interview I wrote down several questions to help me keep this interview flowing in the right direction. During this interview we discussed his developmental history. In this reflective paper I will first discuss the most notable aspect of the interview. Second, I will share topic(s) that Eddie responded most strongly too and share why he did so. Third, I will discuss surprising aspects of the interview. Fourth, I will share the life transition(s) that he addressed during this interview. Last, I will discuss what I have learned from this interview.
