showing respect to your chain command is a form of discipline that every soldier should have towards their higher ranking individuals. these men and women got to their postion through working hard and following the armys codes of conduct. They try to instile the best in you and they are grooming you for success in your militery career so when you are think they are being hard on you . You must show them nothing but respect and follow their orders the best you can. then off line you can ask them in a respectful way to talk to them in private in order to discuss your problems and find out how to fix the situation so as not to mess up in the future. When ever you are talking to a higher ranking individual you must stand at parade rest to show respect toward them , that shows them that you have respect towards their rank and postion in your chain of command and you must speak with respect even if you are upset. do not show disrespect by rolling your eyes, shrugging your shoulders, or speaking under your breath when given an order or a block of instructions as this will hinder your success and advancement in your military career . Respect for your chain of command is one of the most important parts of unit cohesion in a combat environment it keeps you all disciplined in stressful situations. sometimes you may think your command is only being hard on you but they have their superiors coming down on them so they come down you thats how the army works. you have to look at the big picture. we work in a very stressful environment doing our jobs to get the mission completed. so show the repect to your chain of command by getting the job done without griping and complaining.
