There are many skills that people should know but the one that I am talking about today is learning how to drive a stick shift car. To me learning how to drive a stick shift is something I need to do because that way I know I will be able to drive anything in case of an emergency. People will benefit from mastering this skill because then they won’t have to worry about not being able to drive if they only have a stick shift or are only able to afford to buy one. They will also benefit from this skill because usually cars that are stick shifts are better on gas than most automatics. So on that aspect they will save gas while driving. Plus with stick shifts it is easier to stop and go at lights and stop signs and such that people will be able to get where they are going faster. If you know how to drive a stick shift then when you go to buy a car it won’t matter what it is that you are going to be driving. When it comes to buying cars there are times that when you buy a stick shift it is cheaper to buy instead of an automatic. I have heard that such vehicles include dodge neons, Chevrolet cavaliers, and some pickup trucks. If you are someone that registers your cars to go race with them, stick shifts are the better route to go because of the better acceleration and speed control that you get from a stick shift. Also, if something were to happen where you had to get someone to the hospital or anywhere for that matter and the only car that was available was a stick you would be able to get them there without worrying. There are many consequences to not mastering the skill of driving a stick shift, such as if there is an emergency to where someone needs to go to the hospital and the only car you can drive is a stick shift you will not know how to drive it and thus not be able to get the person there. To me being able to get someone to the hospital is a matter of life and death so if you cannot drive a stick shift and that is the only vehicle available that person...
