Story of Meresamun
A long time ago, in Ancient Egypt, near the river Nile, lived pair of young rich people. They had everything, but only thing they wanted was child. Then, when they were older and gave up all the idea, the dream came true. Little girl Meresamun was living like a princess. She had great childhood, during which her mother learned her everything about leading a household. Her parents loved her so much that they did not even let her leave house. When she got twenty years old, she had got sistrum. She liked playing this instrument so she made a deal with parents about working. She could leave her house for singing in temple of Amun at Karnak. Everything was going well. One day, after few years she came home as usualy at dinner time. But this was not regular dinner. Even others poor people hadn´t anything to eat, they had big feast. They made it because they daughter had 30th bithday this day. Her parents solemnly announced her husband. He gave her a mirror as gift. Meresamun began to like this man. Everyone was satisfied at that moment. In a middle of a dinner Meresamun began to choke with peas and they couldn´t help her. They found out, that even they guarded her as the apple of an eye , they could not protect her from everything. Although , their lives were ruined they paid her the best coffin because they believed they´ll met after death. We just hope they had met.
