Job Description: Supervised transport of patients from all departments in the hospital to the x-ray department.
Why I selected this work placement:
I have an interest in physiotherapy and working in a health environment and would provide me with an introduction in this field.

Training/Instructions given:
They told me about preserving the patient’s dignity by putting a blanket on them when transporting them from one hospital department to another. They also showed me how to carry out proper hand hygiene.
Duties Performed:
I transported my first few patients with members of the portering staff supervising me.
Interactions with Staff:
I introduced myself to everyone from the portering department whom I would be working with throughout the week.
Observations:
The staff in the hospital are always chatty and friendly towards patients which makes them feel more relaxed and at ease.
