U.S. Job Growth Continues in March 4/4/14
According to the Labor Department, the U.S. economy adds 192,000 jobs in March 2014. That is only a slight decrease from the 197,000 positions created in February. The unemployment rate remains unchanged at 6.7%, the same as it was February, as more people return to the labor market in search for work. This affects me because it gives me a higher chance of getting a job.

“House Passes $1 Trillion Spending Bill” 4/16/14
The House voted in bipartisan fashion today to approve a massive spending package to fund the government through the end of the fiscal year, passing the measure by a vote of 359-67 and likely taking the prospect of another government shutdown off the table until at least this fall. Just three House Democrats opposed the vote on the omnibus; 64 Republicans voted against it. This affects my community, my family and me because if the government spends 1 trillion dollars and we have another government shutdown, then that delays the paychecks from coming in on time and people need their paychecks on time.

The Obama administration faced a fresh challenge to its health-care law just as many of its key provisions took effect Wednesday, after an eleventh-hour Supreme Court ruling temporarily allowed some Catholic groups not to cover birth control in their employee health plans. The requirement that employers cover contraception and related medications and procedures has been one of the most controversial parts of the Affordable Care Act, leading to dozens of lawsuits from groups that say it violates their religious freedom. This affects my community because there is a lot of pregnant females in my community who depends on the birth control that is covered by their job.
