Why should we hire you ?
Though engineering has taught me a step wise procedure to find a solution to any
problem, it misses out on many other aspects which are not so very obvious to a logical mind.
My passion to expand my horizons beyond just being an analytical thinker, has led to me
choosing an MBA. With an open mind and a broader perspective, I wish to create an impact at
the grass root level and earn recognition in the field of marketing.
Having interned for 2 months at Philips, work didn’t feel as taxing as I expected it to be,
it was more like a breath of fresh air. Work at Philips was as if it was simply waiting for me to
come and join. Philips follows an open culture where people of all levels are treated in the
same manner. Everyone is at an equal footing when it comes to work. There is no fixed seating
arrangement for employees, any person can grab any chair and sit for the day. The best part of
such an environment is that people work at their leisure. Being a self driven and motivated
person I need no supervising to see if I have slacked off with so much freedom in hand. Such an
open culture will only enhance my working ability by keeping my mind free from pressures. A
flexible mind always paves way for new thoughts.
An atmosphere that enables free thinking and easy flow of ideas, innovation is a given
follow up. But sometimes, the creative heads tend to sideline the obvious methods in order to
innovate. I believe out of the box thinking comes, only if you know what is in the box. With the
eagerness to first get all my basics right and then build over it makes me a perfect fit who can
balance both the aspects of creative part and getting the fundamentals right. Philips being an
organization that encourages variety, such a thought process is necessary to innovate better.
