TECHNOLOGY AND NURSING PROFESSION
Nowadays technological advancement is a need in order to cope up in this fast changing world where new technology is in demand, and these create a great impact in our profession, government and religion, environment and natural ecosystem, trade and commerce, and socio-economic and system.
In our profession as nurses the effect of technological advancement changes the way on how we provide our nursing care to our patients. The use of new technology lessen our interactions in our patients, this is a reality. Although the new technology improves our care to patient by providing a way on assessment of patient condition (such as the cardiac monitor connected to a critical patient, MRI as an advance way of imaging of the body and others) but these new technology take us away in providing a personal care and these make our nurse-patient interaction lesser. Consequently, these technological advancements might make us dependent to them, so we must not let this to happen.
The same way that happen in our profession, technology also affects our government and our religion. The new technology becomes a need in our government in order to provide better services to the people. Computerization of the different agencies became much in demand, not only to make their job easier but also to make wider services to people, such as the use of the World Wide Web. In our religion the advancement of technology changes the way of ministry to the people. We can see some Sect use the television, other make use of text messages to send biblical verses, and other use the internet by providing website to their members and other people can access it. But these advancements also create negative effects on the moral discipline of the people such as the use of cell phones during the Mass, exploitation of pornographic media in cell phones and in the internet, and others.
