In today’s technologically driven society many options are available for HR departments to determine what type of HR information system is best suited for their corporations. UltiPro software and Lawson HR are two systems that should be considered when choosing an information system.
UltiPro software offers many features to streamline the HR department forms and files. Many of these forms and files are kept in an area UltiPro calls, “The Employee Management Cycle.” These features include recruiting, hiring/onboarding, managing benefits, time/tracking attendance, payroll processing, reporting, serving manager and employees, managing performance/compensation, and terminating employees.
The recruiting area is completely automated and can be integrated with job search engines. Once you decided on a candidate you can easily set them up in the hiring/onboarding feature. The managing benefits section allows you to offer multiple plans to different payroll type personnel. In the time/tracking feature an employer can sum up the hours worked by an employee. They may also track and oversee the different types of employee leave. The payroll processing feature allows the payroll department to process payroll in a fraction of the time and view payroll from a browser. There are many reports available in the reporting feature. It allows managers the ability to review areas such as overtime, turnover, and benefit costs. It also permits managers and employees to update communication and information. In the managing performance and compensation section the manager may review prior reviews. The software allows for a section that will determine the amount of a raise without sending cumbersome paper work. Finally it allows the employer one simple screen when the need arises for terminating a employee.
