The Internet and its’ effect on Society

The Internet has made a huge change in people’s lives in modern society, it would be easy to see how people might struggle if the Internet were to spontaneously disapear. Almost everyone knows how to use a computer and connect to the Internet today. Sitting in front of the table and clicking a mouse, provides people with easy access to the Internets vast stores of data and processing power. Millions of people in the world use the Internet every day, and with that comes easy methods for people to quickly sell, advertise, or share knowledge. Life before and after the invention of the Internet are totally different worlds, but what have changed the most are undoubtedly communication, the spread of information and businesses and their practices.
First off, people communicate with others every day, and they all want to have the easiest (and possibly coolest) way to contact with others. With the relatively new innovation of the Internet, people find communication easier than ever, as if they were talking to someone in person without the Internet. For example, MSN messenger is an instant message system that people can utilize to send messages to friends and family in seconds or less. Also, new technologies allow people to see and talk to those near and dear to them through a camera and microphone setup. In the past, people would have to go through a painstakingly long process to write a letter, put a stamp on and mail it, adhering to postal codes and conducts. The receiver may have to wait for days or possibly weeks (as was in the old days) before the mail is received. Sometimes these delays would put people at disadvantages due to the long wait. Nowadays email takes a dominant role in the transportation of documents, allowing for light speed sending of tiny pixels that form words, pictures or even videos. The communication has sped up the process of dating as well as new internet dating has become particularly prevalent...
