Today, many companies throughout the United States are experiencing a steady decline in sales due to companies not being able to yield large returns along with the necessity for advanced technology in order to support customer demands. Corporations are being crippled due to major financial losses thus resulting in restructuring and securing advanced technology to take over roles handled by employees in order to yield a higher productivity. "Employers have an absolute right to terminate individuals for economic reasons, they often make mistakes that leave the door wide open for employment suits" (Anderson, 2003, p 33). FastServe has not been unaffected by the crisis facing corporations in America. FastServe must reposition the organization in order to maintain its lead as industry leader. In order to make the reposition successful, FastServe must carefully plan, organize, and communicate the elimination of specific job roles and titles by presenting the facts and figures to the company's leaders. The potential for risk and conflicts will be presented just as any organization faced with eliminating jobs must do. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the importance of eliminating roles and jobs which are no longer necessary due to the automation of processes and procedures. The task of elimination of positions and roles within a company is not taken lightly, even though the difficulty of the direction in which the organization must confront and administer; along with reviewing other non critical positions within the organization for future terminations.
