When a message is being transmitted from one person to another it travels through a channel, which is means through which a message is being transmitted. Noises are referring to any stimulus that can interfere with, or degrade, the quality of a message. Noises are being described as being external signals such as loud music or voices, a humming air conditioner, or bizarre dress or hair-style. And noises can be from internal stimuli, such as hunger or sleepiness, and semantic interference, such as when a speaker uses words you do not know or use a familiar word in an unfamiliar way. Getting feedback is getting a response to a message and lets a sender know if the message was received and how the message was interpreted. Individuals are primary focusing on more on communication. Many of these separate forces contribute to one’s identity, and these forces in turn affect our communication. Combinations of these variables are unique for every individual, so we can communicate in a distinctive way. Individual are not free. They are arranged in a hierarchy in which some individual characteristics are more highly valued than others. Values attributed to ones characteristics such as age, sexual orientation, and sex also come from these larger societal forces whether communicated to us through the media, by our friends, family, or by an organization such as schools, religious institution, or clubs.
