Topic: Should Students be required to wear uniforms in public schools?
In my opinion I believed that uniform should be worn in public schools, for it’s an image of professionalism and unity and equality among students. In the ancient days uniform was worn in public and private schools, now it’s fading away because of the fashion, the new trends that are out, many feel that they are too old to feel uniform, many feels it’s against the law to wear uniform in school and thus most the catholic schools are the only ones that are keeping that rule of wearing uniform so as to stay in equality.
One of the reasons why uniform should be worn in public school is because of peer pressure. Many parents who cannot shop at the designer store shops at Wal-Mart or Kmart. Those kids are being picked upon; some kids tend to lose his or her best friend simply because she may not wear something that is up to standard. And simply being picked upon can causes that child to skip class, try to fit in with the other cools kids by stealing, borrowing and the list goes on.
The second reason why uniform should be worn in school is because; it causes less attraction to predator. Many of us have relatives or know someone who is in public schools, the clothes they wear is outrageous. Little skimpy skirt, the tops with the breast bulging out, sometimes I ask myself are these girls going to school or to a party. And as for the boys, my god, the pants is by the knee, the hair haven’t seen comb in days, what kind of style is that, what example are being set for the future kids. I remember back in my country while going to elementary school we had to wear uniform, we couldn’t let our hair down, we had to wear ribbons which was of color black and white, simple white sneakers or black shoe with white or black socks.
