THE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Our service chosen by our team to market is providing valet service to the students of our university, at the American University of Sharjah. This is a service that we feel has a huge demand and one that most students at some time or the other have requested for it.
The number of parking spaces in university has always been limited, with more cars and lesser number of parking spots. For students who drive this becomes a problem, since the main advantage driving is being able to come to university just before your classes start. However, in this case the students have to come before hand in order to ensure that they manage to snag parking spaces right near their school. Late comers not only spend more time looking for parking but are also forced to park further away thus making them later than they should be. Looking at this situation we came across the idea of providing valet service to those students who drive, thus making it easier for them to reach their classes on time as well as to unburden them of the load of having to find a parking space for themselves.
Though valet services are common in malls, hotels, particular events etc, here in the UAE it is unheard of having a valet service in universities. However, it is not uncommon around the world in places such as America, Europe etc. In fact, even universities in neighboring countries such as Kuwait make this service available to their students. The UAE happens to be the city with the one the highest percentage of car owners in universities. If a high percentage of students have cars in the universities, then why shouldn’t one provide this service here, where it is probably needed the most?
