What is Art?
Art is, first of all, "made". It is not "created" because it does not come out of nothing and it is not "produced" because it is not a commodity. It is something made by man that conveys a certain beauty. Meaning that it appeals to one's senses and that it evokes contemplation from the viewer. The beauty that is conveyed in an art work reveals a certain truth. A truth that reveals the times, emotions, circumstance, etc. of the artist.
Therefore art is work that is put together by an individual. It is a true creative act that is used as a form of expression from the artist. Art is inspiring and can influence a society. Art work is seen through acting, music, and pictures. Art can be seen in many places that inspires many and contributes a way of entertainment. The arts will always be around in some way.

Trying to describe ‘what art is not’ is very difficult because it is all a matter of opinion. Like I stated before, what art is not to me may not be what someone else feels. But I strongly feel that art is not art just because someone simply said it is.
