As the new practice manager I will begin my job by re-vamping what seems to be a failing department in the UCF Community Care Center. Although immediately this whole situation can seem overwhelming I don’t believe any of the issues present are unfixable and a lot of them can be handled fairly soon or pretty rapidly with some good planning and team effort. So I would immediately make sure that the front desk assistant was reprimanded for texting and not helping patients and then have that person start working on checking in the group of restless visitors. If I can aid in check in at all to reduce the crowd I will. As far a long term goals go I might look into hiring more front desk assistants to reduce crowds faster and make sure they all go through a very through training (teaching, practice, testing). I would then try to move all the patient files that are visible and out in the open to a...
