A Single Parent Struggle
For many decades, there have been children growing up in a single parent family household
and have been viewed as being different. Being raised by only one parent seems impossible to
many, but yet it is common. In today’s society many children have
grown up and become physically and emotionally successful whether they had
one or both parents in their life to show them the ups and downs that life bestows upon
them. The problem in society today lies in the difference of children raised by one parent
versus being raised by both parents. Do a child need both parents? Do a young boy need a
father figure around? Do the government provide assistance for single parents in need? With
much speculation, this topic “A Single Parent Struggle” has become a very intriguing argument
over the time. What people must and need to understand is that their is no right or wrong
way on raising a child. When raising a child you should focus on the process or values
that need to be taught to your children as they learn to mature. Children of single parents can
be just as progressive with emotional, social and behavioral skills as those with two parents.
Society claims that the only way for children to gain full emotional and behavioral
skills is to be raised by both parents, which is not true. When a topic such as this one has a
