America’s Faulty Education System
The government and politicians are ignorant about the condition of schools; they’re never responsible enough to take the blame for the inconvenience they’ve caused students. They point the finger at everyone but themselves; it’s the teachers fault students aren’t grasping the criteria and TV is to blame because kids are more interested in their programs. Politicians are limiting the funds towards schools, creating a shortage of supplies that students need to acquire and, it’s causing a deliberate education system. Kids are beginning to dislike school, this shouldn’t be the environment students are placed in; they should enjoy getting an education. The government and politicians are illiterate and refuse to acknowledge that education is a significant concern regarding the future of American students.
In “Idiot Nation” Michael Moore wrote an article that discussed various conflicts with the education system; he incorporated helpful and persuasive information regarding politician’s mistakes, other interests, and lack of responsibility. Politicians are blaming teachers for the poor performance of their students, but they are essentially criticizing teachers because they don’t want the legal liability for their mistakes. Teachers are now accountable for their students’ ability to grasp the knowledge they present to the class. In result to the governments inadequate funding towards schools, it’s creating a teacher shortage which weakens the amount and quality of education for students. This is ultimately distributing a concern because a shortage of teachers creates a lack of quality. Moore states that “the national teacher shortage is so big that some school systems are recruiting teachers outside the United States.”(RA Moore 140). Teachers are being laid off, their paychecks are being reduced, the government’s enforcing furlo days so teachers aren’t working as much, and there’s also less supplies available for students....
