Executive summary
This report deliberates the choice and justification of a filter to be built in the Tonle Sap region of Cambodia. It reflects upon the different designs the team considered and goes through a thorough justification on why the final design was chosen. Furthermore, it investigates the technical and financial aspects of the design as well as exploring the context of the project and how the design relates to the context.
Upon the onset of this project, the team initially had 3 designs in consideration. Each design had the original slow sand framework but differed in terms of extra components.
The three designs went as follows:
Works in a simplistic and highly functional manner with ease of manufacture and use.
Design 1 with an additional control valve
Complex System with the use of a hot water system for multipurpose uses
